AWANA Clubs International is a Bible centered children’s program that began 40 years ago as a way to help kids in downtown Chicago and is now used in churches throughout the world. Its purpose is to teach children about Jesus Christ and to train them in Biblical principles so they can enjoy the blessings of a life pleasing to God.

AWANA ministers to children who are 3 years of age by August 31st of that year up through 5th grade. The AWANA club is held each Wednesday evening, August 24th through May 10th from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm. There are 3 small groups divided by age

  • Cubbies are 3 year old – 5 years

  • Sparks are Kindergarten – 2nd grade

  • Truth in Training are 3rd – 5th graders

Each AWANA meeting begins with a whole group “Worship Rally”. After this large group session, clubbers are dismissed to their classrooms in the Education wing of the building. Here, the clubbers participate in handbook time where Bible verses are presented in short sections that each child may complete at his/her own pace. Each week the child is offered an opportunity to share his/her knowledge from the handbook. Awards are given for the child’s successful achievement of sections. The clubbers also participate in game time where they are taught sportsmanship and values in team competition.
